Our Beginnings

Pride of Holly Springs began with a conversation—and a shared vision for something more. On January 21, 2024, a group of passionate residents came together with one goal: to create space for the LGBTQIA+ community in Holly Springs to feel seen, celebrated, and supported. That day, the seeds of something beautiful were planted.

Jack Turnwald, Donna Friend, Linda Friend, Anne Bono, Kristen Valus, Stacey Burns, Finn Clingerman, and Amanda Clingerman were the founding voices in the room. As the conversation unfolded, so did the realization: Holly Springs was ready for this. There was energy, there was purpose, and—most importantly—there was heart. The group unanimously agreed to form a committee, grow their membership, and explore the creation of a nonprofit dedicated to community, inclusion, and pride.

Over the next several months, that idea turned into action. With dedication and countless volunteer hours, the committee—still made up of those original members—drafted the foundational documents needed to become a nonprofit organization. On July 28, 2024, they met once more to review, refine, and ultimately approve the paperwork that would officially launch Pride of Holly Springs as a 501(c)(3). Officers were elected, a registered agent was designated, and a new chapter for Holly Springs began—one rooted in love, equity, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel at home in their community.

Our Vision

We envision a Holly Springs where everyone—regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or background—feels safe, supported, and empowered to thrive in a truly inclusive community.

Our Mission

Pride of Holly Springs exists to uplift and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community by creating inclusive spaces, offering educational opportunities, and centering the safety and visibility of historically excluded identities.
